What Mealime users valued
Quick recipes, a grocery list that built itself, and not having to think too hard on a weeknight. Mealime's recipes aren't going away: they continue on Meals Hub in Albertsons Companies store apps, which is the closest one-to-one replacement if you want the same recipes.
Two approaches: plan-first or pantry-first
Plan-first apps, like Mealime, have you choose recipes for the week and then build a shopping list. They work well if you plan on Sunday and the plan holds.
Pantry-first apps start from what's already in your kitchen and help you decide tonight. They work well if the plan tends to fall apart by Wednesday.
How Dinner Plans works
- Point the camera at the fridge. It reads the shelf, quantities included.
- Talk to fix anything. "Six eggs, not two."
- Tonight prints for whoever's home, using what's about to turn.
- Cook one step at a time, timers and all.
Who Dinner Plans fits, and who it doesn't
- Good fit: parents who cook most nights, want to use what's in the fridge, and cook for people who eat differently.
- Probably not: if you want a fixed weekly plan or Mealime's exact recipe library, Meals Hub or a dedicated planner may suit you better.
- Dinner Plans does not import Mealime data. You start fresh.
- Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial. You subscribe through the App Store or Google Play, and you're charged when the trial ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before. Cancel anytime in your phone's subscription settings.
