Source: Mealime's closing page, checked October 13, 2026. What happened to Mealime data

Mealime started with recipes. Dinner Plans starts with your kitchen.

Mealime asked you to pick recipes, then built your plan and list around them. That works when you have time on Sunday to plan. Dinner Plans starts at the other end: it's 5pm, you open the fridge, and you want to know what you can make with what's in there.

  1. Point the camera at the fridge. It reads the shelf, quantities included.
  2. Talk to fix anything. "Six eggs, not two."
  3. Tonight prints for whoever's home, using what's about to turn.
  4. Cook one step at a time, timers and all.

A note from the founder

I'm Shane Jordan, and I build Dinner Plans in Birmingham, Alabama. My family uses it for dinner, picky eaters included. Most nights don't fall apart because we lack recipes. They fall apart at 5pm, when nobody has decided anything and the fridge is full of half-used things. So Dinner Plans starts there, with what you already have. We're a small team. Founding families get a direct line to me, and what you tell us shapes what we build next.
